I’m goin’ back to Puerto Rico! Puerto Rico here I come! I’m goin’ back to Puerto Rico. Cause that’s where… oh hey!
If this is your first time coming to my page, bienvenido, or welcome! Let me give you the scoop on what’s new in my world.
I am finishing up my final semester of high school (yay!) and working a new job. I am really looking forward to graduating and preparing to go to college this fall. I’m not sure where I’m going yet, but I know God already has the best plan laid out for me. One of the things I’m doing this spring is going back to Puerto Rico!
Last year, I went on a mission trip with Cru High School, a division of Campus Crusade for Christ, to Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. We visited schools and churches around the island, meeting and sharing Jesus with students as well as packing bags and boxes of food and clothes for those affected by Hurricane María. God taught me so much about His sovereignty and power while I was there last year. So many lives were changed, both on our team and on the island.
We personally evangelized 76 students, had 103 spiritual conversations, met 291 students in classrooms, hosted 40 students in the afterschool outreaches, completed over 8 hours of service, and sorted and packed over 2000 pounds of food to give to families. All in all, it was a great week. I have been blessed with the opportunity to return to Puerto Rico on missions again this March 23rd through the 31st.
Our main mission this year is to connect with the students and people we meet and to try and establish a Cru High School chapter in Puerto Rico. We aren’t sure yet all that we will get to do for service projects but I am so excited! If last year was any indication, we are going to have a great time serving people and representing Jesus through it.
In order to make my trip possible, I need to build a network of ministry partners to support me, both financially and through prayer. I currently have $1,375 left to raise in the next two weeks. The cost of the trip covers food, transportation, and room and board for the week we will stay in Mayaguez. You can be a part of what God is doing in Puerto Rico this year. Would you consider joining my team by giving a gift of $100, $200, $300 or more? However, any amount is greatly appreciated. Please give as you feel God is leading you to.
